Kris Albertson, M.S., CCC-SLP is a licensed and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist with over 25 years of experience helping individuals across the lifespan to improve their communication and swallowing abilities. She uses a collaborative, person-centered approach with a focus on creating individualized treatment plans and setting meaningful goals based on what is important to each client. She also values the support and involvement of families and care partners as part of the therapy team. Whether the client’s goal is returning to work, communicating with family and friends, participating in the community activities, being understood over the phone or enjoying a favorite meal, Kris is committed to supporting each person’s progress in ways that truly matter to them.

Kris earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She has extensive experience working in a variety of clinical settings in Des Moines, Iowa, including hospitals, rehabilitation centers, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health. Her areas of expertise include working with adults who are experiencing Aphasia, Apraxia, Dysarthria, Cognitive impairments, Voice disorders (Dysphonia), and Swallowing disorders (Dysphagia). These conditions are often due to Concussion, Traumatic Brain Injury, Dementia, Stroke, Parkinson’s Disease or other Neurological Disorders.

Kris recently relocated to Oregon from Iowa to be closer to her first grandchild. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, crafting, attending concerts, trying new restaurants, spending time with family and exploring all that her new home state of Oregon has to offer.
